the one.

i found it. the one. and i'm not talking about the boy. i found the dress today.

my mum and i went shopping. i was a little nervous. what if i didn't find anything. what if i looked like a cow in everything.

but i found it.

i went in thinking that i knew what i was doing. i had pictures and lists. but the things i wanted, were not the things that looked good on me. in the end i fell in love with a dress that zips up, is strapless and ivory but makes me look beautiful and feel like a bride.

i'm not posting a picture, because i can't find one online that does it justice.

but:
-it's a soft light ivory colour that makes my skin look radiant and tan (if that is possible)
-it's a slim a line. enough of a skirt and train that i feel like a bride, slim enough that i look tall and can move easily.
- it's strapless with a zip up - i know, i'm surprised as you - but its so flattering!
- it's chiffon and embroidered lace (soft and touchable)
- little bit of beading and sparkle - simple but with romantic touches so i feel like a girl

it will be here in 3 months - so excited! on to shoe shopping and earring hunting!

dresses, dresses, everywhere

my mum and I are going dress shopping next week. i've managed to procrastinate this task until almost the very last minute. most dresses take about 3 months to arrive and i'm going to need time for alterations (hemming anyone?) so I need to make a decision. i'm excited - i think that buying the dress will really make me feel like a bride and it will mean that i can get some of my other "to do's" (like undies, shapewear, shoes jewelry ets.) out of the way.

so i've been thinking about what i want in a dress. i think that a-line would be most flattering on me, not so poufy cause really i'm 5'2 and I don't want to look shorter, but i don't want anything too sheath like and square either. i also don't want bridal satin - i think it looks so hard, i want to look touchable, so i'm more attracted to chiffon or lace. i would really like a corset back, since i'm still dieting, so if i lose more weight i can just cinch it up, plus i love how it looks. i also would like the top to have an interesting neckline, preferably with straps, but for sure with a sweetheart neckline.

so here i have some examples of dresses that make me happy, and ones I'm going to try on on thursday. what do you think? suggestions?

i think number 2 is winning right now, but it's also the most expensive. we'll have to see after i get them on.
