just your average night in Alpena.

Ah! best time ever! Drunkeness, falling down twice, sketchy freaks, being asked by an old lady in a dive bar why I was not wearing pants (well in honesty i wasn't), boob shaped shot glasses, yummy whiskey sours, dirty dancing in dive bars, good times. :)

RIP

If pete died on tuesday, I buried him on wednesday. As you may recall, pete started acting all squirrley last tuesday morning on my way to school. Turns out, I'm not on crack, that the gas pedal shouldn't make you go slower and the problem was that pete's transmission committed suicide while we were coasting down that hill. A rebuilt transmission was going to cost $1700 - which doesn't seem like a wise investment in a car that is worth barely that much.
So on wednesday I went to the mechanic and let pete go. I sold him to the mechanic for parts and ended up leaving with money in my pocket, not much after the expenses for the towing and the diagnositics, but some.
It's really weird how hard it was to walk away. I got a little upset as I cleaned all my junk out of him. Pete was my first love. My first car and there will always be a special place in my heart for that lump of metal.

It's funny how as soon as you think you have things undercontrol, the universe kicks you in the nuts.

Last night, things were good. I'm getting married to the love of my life, yoga class had me relaxed and energized, my first day at CHS was great and I had worked out a schedule with my mentor teacher that was going to work for both of us, I was looking forward to heading to Canada to see my girls.

Today everything changed. On my way to CHS, I backed out of the driveway just fine, I headed out on the road, and was looking forward to the day, it's chilly but bright and sunny - Spring if Coming!!! Then I noticed as I started down one of Petoskey's many hills, that when I hit the gas, I actually slowed down. I thought I was on crack there for a minute, it was early but not early enough for me to be confusing the brake and gas pedals. So I tried again - same thing - slowing. So I pulled off the road, and noticed and I couldn't reverse, and I had to rev the engine really high to change gears.

Long story short Pete is now being towed to the car dr. and I am stuck at home, calling my my mentor teacher explaining to him that my car sucks and I can't come in, ON MY SECOND DAY OF WORK! I'm freaking out that Pete is going to cost me tons of money, mess up my placement schedule and keep me from seeing my girls on the weekend.

Stupid Universe. You need to go buy a cup, cause I'm coming for you.
