So we had a cake tasting a couple weeks ago.. and as I predicted, the boy did not like fondant one little bit. Additionally, as great a job as my mum did, it was obviously amateur - so we've moved on to buttercream, the boy loves the taste and the mum is far more comfortable with the medium. So, we're looking for designs for cakes that one could use buttercream for.
I love love love this one. Only with pink icing and fewer white flowers, we'll also need more layers to feed everyone but it's the idea that inspires me. Thoughts?

I think this cake is beautiful. It'd be pretty in pink and definitely do the job! And I don't think more layers would ruin the look or anything.. the more the merrier! :)

I like it! Mostly I like that it's going to be cherry chip...but that's what I would like most about any cake you could choose! I like the flowers, but I think that fewer would be nicer (and make your mom's life much easier!)
